A few weeks ago I bought my first dek of tarot cards. The one I bought was the Rider Waite Set. For beginners it is the perfect set to start with. I have always been interested in spiritual stuff. Also I believe in such things. The reason I bought these tarot cards is simple. I am curious. I am always curious about things. But also because I do believe those cards can really answer your question and make problems or things you bump in to, a little bit easier.
Tarot cards were first used to play games with in the 15th century. Later on in the 18th century people started using them for divination. The cards are traced by some occult writers to ancient Egypt, but sadly there is no evidence of such origins. The cards should not be used to answer yes or no questions. Most people say it shouldn’t be used to make decisions either. It has to help you like make the decision yourself. More like a guide.
I have done tarot a few times now and I have to admit I am blown away. I really needed help or guidance with the questions I asked. The cards I picked really told me something. It was kind of mind-blowing how good the cards fitted with the question I asked myself. You really think things through and get really deep into your own mind and that’s what I like about it. They helped me with making some decisions and I haven’t regret those decisions yet. And I don’t think I will.
The hard part about learning tarot is the meaning of the cards. Of course there comes a small book with the cards which explains every card. But if you really take it serious, you want to study the cards and know their meaning without the guide. There are a lot of cards and with every deck’s own artwork it’s quite hard to learn. But it would be weird if you want to do tarot with or for someone and you’d be like ”oh wait let me check the meaning of this one” with every damn card.
If you are interested in something like this I really recommend you to just buy a beginners tarot set and learn how to use it. It’s a fun thing to do and something different than being on your phone or computer all the time.
